The Aims of this Club

- to teach the art of Judo

- further the players enjoyment from the sport

- install respect and self control

- to promote a good level of fitness

- encourage a sense of discipline.

We actively encourage players to enter competitions and gradings when THEY  feel that they are ready.

We also encourage parental support in both the sporting and social side of Judo i.e. social evenings and fundraising events.

 

The club is run solely as a non profit organisation

 

We are a non political club as such any Judoka from any association or society are welcome at any time.

We are members of the British Judo Association (club no 8211)

 

Did you know?

  • Judo is the most widely practiced martial art in the world, and Judo is the second most practiced sport worldwide (Football is no1).
  • Judo is always one of the first Olympic events to sell out of tickets, and more countries participate in Judo than all other Olympic sports except Track and Field. There are 197 member nations in the International Olympic Committee and 182 of them are members of the International Judo Federation.
  • The Red and White Judo tournament was started by Jigoro Kano in 1884 and continues today as one of the longest running sports events in the world, predating the Modern Olympic Games by 12 years

All visitors are most welcome to our club, we are a club built around the Junior Judoka. New members can start from 5 years old. Please see training times for more information.
